What was the highlight of Southside by Ovolo
Kind personnel and a stylish hotel
The rooms worth the big windows were very nice and had all amenities we needed. The personnel was very kind and helpful. A subway station is well reachable or you can go there by bus.
It is kind of far out from the center but we’ll reachable. It was a little pricy for the long trip to the city but it was nice to see more of Hongkong Island. From the outside the building really didn’t look like the hotel would be as nice as it is.

Nice hotel. Would benefit from trying to be a bit less trendy
Very comfortable room. Nice view, nice facilities in the room. Reception staff very welcoming.
The buttons in the elevator are arranged in a trendy (ie, not normal) layout and the trendy lighting (ie, not much of it) doesn’t permit reading the floor numbers. There is an L floor which as far as I could tell is the first (US 2nd) floor. L in a hotel normally means lobby so it’s confusing. Would be nice to know what the L floor was about. Suspect breakfast was there but don’t know. The elevator kept stopping at a hotel laundry floor. Not sure why

What was the highlight of Southside by Ovolo
Overall it is rather value for money and we are fine with the stay.
Convenient location just a few mins walk to MTR station. I got a free upgrade as a new customer for which the room view is good. I also like the Louge/Social Area which is very cosy and chill, there is free coffe, tea, soft drinks as well!
Honestly the room is a bit small, I got upgraded to 24sqm room but there isn't any desk and chair. You can only go to the social area to work if needed.
